Roots of a Writer
Sandra Evans Falconer is the great grand daughter of Mary Elizabeth Evans who immigrated from Wales to America with her family in 1870. In her short life of only 42 years, Mary Elizabeth Evans wrote poems -verse – as it was called then - about family, fate, and spirituality. Sandra’s mother, Marcia W. Falconer , also wrote poems, many about dogs and horses. She was also a gifted and prolific letter writer, corresponding with her daughter for nearly 40 years beginning with her daughter’s years in college in the 1960’s. The long correspondence between mother and daughter has resulted in over 350 hand written and typed letters, postcards, personal notes, and clippings. Today Sandra still continues to write personal notes and post cards to family & friends.
